Chris was appointed Undersheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) at the beginning of 2021 having previously served many years as an Assistant Sheriff and Deputy Chief of detectives. LVMPD is an agency that has always been at the forefront of reform and progressive policing practices.

During his 32-year law enforcement career, Chris has developed an extensive background in creating and reviewing the most critical policies affecting law enforcement, such as using force, foot pursuits, vehicle pursuits, search warrant service, and de-escalation.

Further, Chris has spearheaded detailed briefings and critical incident reviews of well over 100 officer-involved shootings (OIS) and in-custody deaths. These incidents were dissected in detail so that policy and training adjustments could be implemented and to effectively transform the culture of LVMPD and the perception of law enforcement. As a result of these efforts, LVMPD reduced its OIS events by almost 50 percent in 2021.
